Delicious Home-Raised Beef Appetizers: Recipes from Our Grand Opening

A few weeks ago, we hosted our much-anticipated open house and grand opening event, and it was a fantastic success! Guests enjoyed a variety of delicious appetizers, all featuring our home-raised beef, which we take great pride in producing. These recipes were created by none other than Cindy—the head boss around here—who knows a thing or two about making crowd-pleasing dishes.

Today, we’re excited to share these recipes with you so you can recreate them at home! We served Spicy Beef Dip, BBQ Meatballs, and Beef Puffs, alongside fresh vegetables, summer sausage, and cheese. Each of these dishes showcases the rich, flavorful beef that makes our products stand out.

Spicy Beef Dip

This warm, creamy dip is packed with bold flavors and a little kick of spice, making it perfect for gatherings, game nights, or a cozy appetizer before dinner. Serve it with tortilla chips, crackers, or even sliced baguette for a satisfying snack.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. Ground Beef
  • ½ clove garlic, minced
  • ¾ cup chopped onion
  • ½ cup chopped green pepper
  • 8 oz can tomato sauce
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ¾ tsp ground oregano
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ⅓ cup Parmesan cheese, grated

Instructions:

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, garlic, onion, and green pepper until the beef is browned and the onions are tender.
  2. Stir in tomato sauce, ketchup, sugar, oregano, salt, and pepper. Cover and let it simmer gently for 10 minutes. If necessary, spoon off any excess fat.
  3. Remove from heat and mix in the softened cream cheese and Parmesan cheese. Stir until the cheese is completely melted and blended into the dip.

Serve warm with tortilla chips or Doritos. Enjoy!

Beef Puffs

These light, airy puffs are filled with a savory beef mixture that perfectly balances sweetness, tanginess, and a hint of umami. They’re a fantastic finger food for parties or holiday gatherings.

Ingredients:

For the Puffs:
  • ¼ cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 envelope dry onion soup mix
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup water
For the Filling:
  • 2 cups cooked and ground beef roast
  • ½ cup chopped sweet pickle
  • Dash of ketchup
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 6-7 Tbsp salad dressing (such as mayonnaise or Miracle Whip)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. In a saucepan, bring 1 cup of water and butter to a boil.
  3. Stir in the flour all at once and mix vigorously until the dough forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan. Remove from heat.
  4. Sift the onion soup mix over the dough to remove large onion pieces.
  5. Beat in eggs, one at a time, until the dough is smooth and velvety.
  6. Drop tablespoons of dough onto an ungreased baking sheet to form small puffs.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until dry and golden brown. Let cool in the oven with the door slightly open.
  8. For the filling: Mix the ground beef, sweet pickle, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and salad dressing until well combined.
  9. Slice open the cooled puffs and fill with the beef mixture. Serve at room temperature.

This recipe makes about 30 small puffs.

BBQ Meatballs

These saucy, flavorful meatballs were a huge hit at our event! They’re easy to make and perfect for any occasion, whether you’re feeding a crowd or just looking for a delicious meal.

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the evaporated milk, oats (or bread crumbs), ground beef, chopped onion, salt, pepper, eggs, garlic powder, and chili powder until fully combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into small balls about the size of a walnut.
